NRSC SPECIALIST HAS PARTICIPATED IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON THE MANAGEMENT OF SPENT FUEL

NRSC stuff member participated in the International Conference on the Management of Spent Fuel from Nuclear Power Reactors and presented results of research devoted to safe storage and transportation of the WWER spent fuel assemblies.

Conference discussed experience of IAEA member states in safe management of nuclear fuel, particularly addressing national strategies, aging management of storage systems, challenges of direct disposal of spent fuel inventory and progress made in reprocessing of spent fuel assemblies allowing recycle of Uranium and Plutonium.
