Research Physicist – Nuclear Safety
The Nuclear and Radiation Safety Center (NRSC) is seeking a motivated and qualified Research Physicist to join its team and contribute to research, analysis, and technical activities in the job of nuclear safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and technical analyses in the field of nuclear safety.
- Perform computational and analytical studies to support the safety assessment of nuclear power plants.
- Model relevant physical phenomena, process and analyze computational data, and evaluate results.
- Research emerging technologies, modern approaches, and developments in nuclear safety.
- Conduct safety-related research on advanced nuclear technologies and potential options for new nuclear power units in Armenia.
- Review international experience, scientific and technical literature, safety standards, and best practices, and develop recommendations for their application.
- Contribute to the development of regulatory, methodological, and advisory documents in the field of nuclear safety.
- Participate in national and international scientific and technical projects and programs.
- Prepare technical reports, analytical materials, research papers, and other documentation.
Required Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills
- Higher education in Physics or a relevant natural science or engineering discipline.
- Master’s students, Master’s degree holders, PhD students, and PhD holders or other advanced-degree specialists are encouraged to apply.
- Strong foundation in physics and mathematics.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of computational methods, data analysis, and/or scientific programming is an advantage.
- Knowledge or research experience in nuclear physics, reactor physics, nuclear engineering, nuclear safety, or a related field is an advantage.
- Fluency in Armenian and working proficiency in English for reviewing professional literature and communicating on technical matters. Knowledge of Russian is an advantage.
- Willingness and ability to acquire new knowledge and develop professional skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility and ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to continuous professional and scientific development.

Compensation
Competitive and negotiable, depending on the candidate’s educational background, academic degree, professional knowledge and skills, relevant experience, and involvement in ongoing projects. The compensation package also includes performance-based bonuses.
